GOPACS makes flexible
capacity deployable<\/h2>\n

GOPACS is the platform that enables grid operators to deploy flexible capacity to prevent grid congestion. This happens in two ways: by activating bids via redispatch and by activating capacity steering contracts (CSCs).<\/p>\n

When there is a temporary lack of capacity at a specific location on the grid, grid operators can intervene in a targeted way through GOPACS. The platform ensures that available flexibility is deployed efficiently and transparently\u2014at the right time and in the right place, without unintended effects elsewhere on the grid.<\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n

Data for and from
the congestion market<\/h2>\n

To deploy flexible capacity in a targeted manner, up-to-date and reliable data is essential. GOPACS provides insight into where and when grid operators expect congestion, which volumes are needed, and which bids have been activated.<\/p>\n

Market participants can use this information to align their bids more closely with current grid needs. At the same time, we collect data for grid operators on the availability and effectiveness of flexibility. This builds understanding of what works and where the opportunities lie for better use of the grid.<\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n

The flexibilisation of
the electricity market<\/h2>\n

The transition to a flexible energy system also requires something from businesses. Many companies do have flexibility in their processes, but don\u2019t yet know how to put it to use. GOPACS helps with this: by explaining how congestion management works, and with tools and data to identify opportunities.<\/p>\n

The connection must be measurable via an EAN code and equipped with appropriate metering equipment. Reliable and up-to-date measurement data must be available, and the flexible capacity must be controllable on request.
