Becoming a Congestion Service Provider (CSP) gives you the opportunity to deploy flexible capacity smartly and generate revenue directly. As a CSP, you play an active role in the flexibility market: you support businesses in value-stacking with their assets and expand your own services with valuable new opportunities. On this page, we explain how you can sign up.

Option 2:
Arrange it independently

1. Apply for recognition at TenneT

To become active as a CSP, official recognition by TenneT is required. This ensures that you meet the technical and organizational requirements to deploy flexibility safely and reliably.

2. Register as a market party

In addition to recognition, you must be registered as a market party. This gives you access to the energy markets and allows you to offer and trade flexibility on behalf of your clients.

3. Register with GOPACS

Finally, register your organization with GOPACS. This connects you to the platform where grid operators procure flexibility, allowing you to directly contribute to solving grid congestion.

GOPACS is the joint initiative of all Dutch grid operators. We coordinate solutions to grid congestion, provide transparent insights into the congestion market, and encourage the flexible use of electricity to keep the energy system resilient and future-proof.
