What makes redispatch interesting?

Redispatch offers CSPs an appealing opportunity to generate new revenue. Every successful bid is financially rewarded, making it a valuable addition to existing business models.

In addition, you can offer your customers extra services: by cleverly deploying their flexibility, you increase their returns and demonstrate your added value. This way, as a CSP, you strengthen your market position and build long-term customer relationships.

The redispatch process

1. Receive market messages

As a CSP, you receive market announcements via GOPACS whenever flexibility is needed. These messages include the location, time period, and required volumes. This way, you know exactly where and when flexibility is requested and can respond accordingly.

2. Submit a bid

Based on the received market messages, you place a bid on one of the connected trading platforms on behalf of your customer. In doing so, you determine the price and amount of flexible capacity.

3. Wait for the activation notice

When your bid is selected, you receive an activation notice via GOPACS. This specifies exactly which capacity needs to be adjusted, at what time, and for how long. This message serves as the official confirmation to take action.

4. Adjust the capacity

After receiving the activation notice, you adjust the agreed capacity. This may involve reducing consumption, lowering injection, or increasing consumption or production. You or your customer can carry out this adjustment manually or through an Energy Management System.

5. Settle with your customer

After completion, the financial settlement follows. As a CSP, you receive compensation from the market plus the possible spread price. You share this according to the agreements made with your customer. This creates a transparent revenue model that is attractive for both parties.

Already a CSP, but not yet active
in redispatch? Activate it now!

As a registered CSP, you can unlock more value from your portfolio by participating in redispatch. Activation is simple and offers immediate opportunities for additional revenue.
1. Activate redispatch in the application

Through the GOPACS application, you can indicate that you want to activate redispatch. This will be visible to the market in the TenneT CSP register. You will then receive market messages so you know which bids are being requested.

2. Qualify your assets

Register the assets suitable for redispatch via the application and have them assessed against the required criteria. Once qualified, you can include the assets in your flexibility bids using their EAN.

Frequently asked questions

Will I be notified when I need to post a flex bid?

Yes, you get this message from your grid operator. This will ask you to place flex bids in the congestion portal for the period when congestion is expected in the area in which you are located.

Will I know if my order was matched on GOPACS, and not in a regular trade?

When an order is matched via GOPACS, you as a market participant will receive notification of this from the trading platform. Financial settlement is also done through the trading platform.

Where can I see which areas are requesting bids?

On this page you will find the congestion areas for which grid operators are making or have made a call for proposals.

Are there purchase guarantees if I submit a bid?

Unfortunately, the grid operator cannot offer off-take guarantees. Whether your bid is taken advantage of depends on the time and location. The system operator selects the bid required to resolve the congestion situation.
