Alternative Transport Rights (ATR) are a contract type that allows you to use your full transport capacity most of the time. During the remaining time, this capacity is limited or must be used flexibly.
There are two variants:
ATRs help reduce grid congestion and enable companies to obtain a new or larger grid connection faster. The condition is that you can operate flexibly with your electricity consumption or generation. In return, you receive a financial benefit, such as lower transport or connection fees.
ATR85: TDTR85 and TBTR85
ATR85 means you are entitled to full transport capacity at least 85% of the time. During the remaining 15%, you must be flexible.
TDTR85 – Time Duration-Based Transport Right (85%)
With TDTR85, you are entitled to transport capacity for at least 85% of the time. During the remaining 15%, the grid operator may impose temporary limitations in case of expected congestion. These are communicated at least one day in advance.
In return for this flexibility, you receive a financial compensation determined by the grid operator.
This contract type is comparable to CBC-A.
TBTR85 – Time Block-Based Transport Right (85%)
With TBTR85, you also have full transport rights for at least 85% of the time.
The remaining 15% is defined through fixed, pre-agreed time blocks during which transport capacity is limited.
This structure is comparable to CBC-T.
